There are lot of functions in this little camera. Accepting the regular SD card is a superb plus and that’s why I bought it (as I had spare ones lying around and wasn’t prepared to buy much more). I love the video high quality regardless of lighting conditions. I agree with other people who mentioned that the video quality of this camera might be compared to the best video cameras obtainable in the market.

This is not the very best photo camera, but certainly had lots of capacity and capabilities to create it outstanding. Takes excellent photos is numerous conditions but had challenges with low light. The functions if correctly utilized will take care of most of the times. Its been couple of months and I’m still getting used to it.

When buying a video camera, things you should look out for:
0. NEVER TRUST A SALESMAN!.. Do your own research first.
1. Video quality. (clarity, colour etc)
2. Photo quality (clarity, colour etc)
3. Image stabilization. This means less shaky video. Whats the point of taking a video when the video shakes too much and is not smooth.
There are two types of image stabilization – Electronic or Optical. The optical is the best, so make sure you have the optical stabilization. Make sure it works by reading reviews or watching a test video in youtube.
4. Battery life
5. Recording time. How many hours can you record before the battery is dead or your memory card is full ?
6. Camera Zoom. There are two types of zoom – digital or optical. Get the optical zoom at all cost, if you want real zooming and clear pictures.
7. Warranty. How many years warranty ?
8. Many cameras perform poorly at low light condition or at night. Can your camera take quality videos/ pictures at night ?
9. Do you want a weatherproof camera or a non-weatherproof camera ?
10. Camera price range ?
11. Can you add-in more memory to the camera ?
12. Audio quality ? How good is the mic ?

Don’t rush and buy a camcorder. If you are short of cash, it is better you wait, save more money and buy a good camcorder.
In short, buy a camcorder that has good video, sound & photo quality, good image stabilization, good zooming, good recording time and good warranty.
