Apple iPad 2 vs iPhone 4: Camera & Microphone Comparison

We all know the iPhone 4 has a much better camera, but does that mean iPad 2 is comparably poor? In this video I do a side by side comparison of all cameras and microphones.

Notes: The iPhone 4 has a longer focal length and a larger lens, therefore stills and videos of nearby objects appear to be closer than the iPad 2. Because the iPhone 4 has a larger lens and sensor, it also performs much better in low light conditions

iPhone 4S / iPhone 4 Camera Daytime Compare

This is a direct side-by-side comparison of the new iPhone 4S and old iPhone 4 cameras. The iPhone 4S has an 8MP camera with video capabilities of 1080p (FULL HD) resolution. The older iPhone 4 sported a 5MP camera with a video capture of maximum 720p resolution. The new camera on the 4S has an extra lens giving better and more accurate light and color capture. It also integrates video stabilization. This helps get rid of shaky cam issues. This is my favorite feature of the iPhone 4S and deserves a second consideration if you hadn’t yet looked closely at this new design. Good job Apple and R.I.P Steve Jobs.

When buying a video camera, things you should look out for:
0. NEVER TRUST A SALESMAN!.. Do your own research first.
1. Video quality. (clarity, colour etc)
2. Photo quality (clarity, colour etc)
3. Image stabilization. This means less shaky video. Whats the point of taking a video when the video shakes too much and is not smooth.
There are two types of image stabilization – Electronic or Optical. The optical is the best, so make sure you have the optical stabilization. Make sure it works by reading reviews or watching a test video in youtube.
4. Battery life
5. Recording time. How many hours can you record before the battery is dead or your memory card is full ?
6. Camera Zoom. There are two types of zoom – digital or optical. Get the optical zoom at all cost, if you want real zooming and clear pictures.
7. Warranty. How many years warranty ?
8. Many cameras perform poorly at low light condition or at night. Can your camera take quality videos/ pictures at night ?
9. Do you want a weatherproof camera or a non-weatherproof camera ?
10. Camera price range ?
11. Can you add-in more memory to the camera ?
12. Audio quality ? How good is the mic ?

Don’t rush and buy a camcorder. If you are short of cash, it is better you wait, save more money and buy a good camcorder.
In short, buy a camcorder that has good video, sound & photo quality, good image stabilization, good zooming, good recording time and good warranty.
