    People still …
People still missing the point of medium formats…

These cameras are for studio professionals. They pay $20k because they need it. You can’t print on a billboard with your Rebel XSi with your stock 18-55mm lens.

    Ah. Everyone wants …
Ah. Everyone wants to go to heaven–but no one wants to die….

One glance at the Hasselblad and I wonder how folks can still b*tch about the “high costs” of Nikon D3, Canon 1D, etc. Compared to these–I’m perfectly fine with my “el cheapo” 50D.

    I think if only …
I think if only Canon will only make a medium format camera it will be the best medium format ever make, imagine large sensor with 60 or even 80mp with dust reduction technology, weather sealed, live view and HD video mode, 3″ led screen, ten frames per second, it has everything you ever wanted with the 1d technology. That would be nice isn’t it?

    Jacobjbfan01 is not …
    Jacobjbfan01 is not completely wrong.
It’s true that for the most common jobs, above 8 the Mpxl count doesn’t really matter.
However when you work for advertising you may see sharpness improvement on large prints as the Mpxl increase.
It’s also true that when you enlarge a photo, you dilute the information. You can enlarge it by 1,4x – 2x in PS without loss of quality. Above these ratios you are taking chances.
There are new software that allow you to go beyond these ratios with no loss.
