How does the Canon 40d camera compare to the Nikon d90 camera?

I want to buy an enthusiast level digital slr camera and have come across two similar cameras. But i do not know which one is better or more "bang for my buck."

Personally I would suggest Nikon D90 which good resolution,
feels great in hand, very comfortable to hold… lighter than a Canon 40d/50d.The optical viewfinder is bright and big, with great coverage.AF tracking points are easy to spot and switch to

However Canon 40D is a good camera choice. Before you buy you should try them both with yourself, which one feel better in your hands, which menu is easier to navigate.

Bang for the buck? The D40 no question, under $600 including two lenses. The D90 costs just under $1000 for the body only
