Can you help me decide between two canon cameras?

I can only spend about $200. I can’t decide between the cannon A series or the SD series. I don’t really know the difference. Can you suggest one for me? I am not a great photographer or anything. I just want to be able to get great pictures of my kids.

The SD series are categorized as ultra compacts using proprietary batteries and very pocketable while the A series are in the compact category and as the previous posters indicated there are more manual options available with the A series.

If you want one with compact, easy to use the SD Series is a good choice. But if you want one with manual option then A Series is the way to go.

Will canon film lenses fit the canon dslr cameras?

I had some old canon film lenses that were given to me, a couple 55mm and a 75-300mm. I was wondering if these could be useful with the canon dslrs? If so I was thinking maybe I would be able to spend a little extra money on a camera body itself verses the camera and lense combo. I am particulary interested in the Canon EOS 50D. Thanks for your help!

If your Canon lenses were used on an EOS Rebel 35mm auto focus film camera then they can be used on any Canon DSLR. If they were used on the older FTb or AE manual focus 35mm film cameras then they cannot be used on a Canon DSLR unless you can find an FD mount to EF mount adapter.

Whose Cameras are better; Kodak or Canon and why.

Between Canon and Kodak, Canon has a #1 products since they were in the business of camera since the begining, but Kodak was making Camera films and printing materials.

You better google canon cameras for reviews and see for yourself about the quality and options they have.

I personally a fan of Canon and I have 2-3 of them like S1 IS and A260 and EOS Rebel XT they are all have some options that Kodak is far behind. For example on A260 there is an option call Color Accent that you can pick a color and take your picture all black and with but that color, very nice option.

So search before you decide what to buy.

Which program do you use for canon cameras?

I haev a canon powershot SD1200 IS. I take plenty of pictures and videos which i download to my computer. The videos come up in my folder as unknown and say they cannot be played/uploaded because windows need sto know what program dreated it. Anyone know how to fix this? theres a video i REALLY need to post on facebook. Haha.

There are, at times, format conflicts from camera to computer.

You might try a card reader because they don’t need any special software, only Windows.
If you’re trying to play it on your computer, be sure that Windows Media Player is your default player.
In the media player, go into set up and make sure that all the formats for video and stills are checked.

Could be your camera is recording in quick time – that very bad apple format. I hope not but could be.
You might check that as well.
