    adobe after effects can import .mov format. i tried it… the after effects cs4.

    i wish it were AVI also, but i don’t have a problem running apple software. i guess that’s the difference.

    Like I said before, neither After Effects or Sony Vegas naively support the .MOV file type, they both require quicktime. I refuse to install software distributed by Apple on my machine. I don’t understand why they have the Digital ELPH series that shoots in .AVI, but not the rebel.

    I use Adobe After Effects and Sony Vegas, both of which don’t naively support .MOV. I absolutely hate quicktime, so yeah, it is a turn off for me. are a turn off as well.

    True, but if I’m gonna pay for something, I expect the features to work the way I wan them to. I’ve also heard that it has to buffer while taking HD video, fragmenting the video. I suppose this could be solved with a high transfer speed SD card, but I prefer CF.

    yea. u can convert mov into avi using free converter in the web. so having mov is not really an issue. besides…taking pictures are the primary reason for getting a dslr.

    hi. in spore, they selling 2 different kits. one is w 18-55mm. the other 18-200mm. i suggest u buy the 18-200mm because in the future u will get tired of the 18-55mm lens.

    you can edit mov in any decent video editing program. you sound like a noob if that’s a turn off, and a rebel isn’t for a noob.
