Should I buy camera with image stabiliser?

I think image stabiliser, anti blur, anti shake, they all same thing right? Should I make sure my camera I am buying has it or is it not really that important? If you got any other advice about what features I must have or additional advice feel free to add.

It depends:

If buying a compact digital camera the has no viewfinder, then yes (it is very difficult to hold a camera steady at "arms length")

If buying a DSLR, then no … buying lenses with the IS or VR feature will in the end provide better quality, sharp images.

IS or VR only takes care of camera movement, not subject movement.

From Ken Rockwell:

"Beware the phrase "anti-shake." Most of the makers who use this term are cheating and merely boosting the ISO to get faster shutter speeds. You can set higher ISOs yourself. They usually do nothing to counteract camera motion as IS and VR do. "

If you have a shakey hand, you might want to buy it, but it doesn’t make a significant difference.

Image Stabilizer and Anti Shake are the same thing I’m pretty sure but Anti Blur isn’t.

Have you had trouble in the past with blurred pics, if so it could have been caused by more then one thing, hand-shake, slow shutter speed and or a windy day.
I believe knowing how to use a camera in he first place is one of the most important things, then features become important.

Someone can spend $5,000.00 on a DSLR and never get a good picture if the user don’t know how too use it.
