What is the best digital camera in the $150-$300 price range?

I am looking to buy a new digital camera, but am somewhat on a budget. Any suggestions on the best one out there in my price range? Please give specific reasons for your choice. Thank you.

okay buying a camera can either be very simple or the total opposite. im guessing you are getting it just point and shoot situations and your not looking into buying the most complicated camera out there.
there would be 3 types of cameras for you to choose from for that catagory.

1-sleek and slim (fits anywhere)
2-standard
3-advanced

i would always recommend going with a canon camera, i have had them since the first digi cameras have come out and i was also a photography major and that is the brand name of cameras we used 24/7 and they always did the best and were the easiest to understand.

-sleek and slim wich may not have all the features you want its the easiest to use but im not sure it would give the quality you would want either, your looking at a price range of 199.99 (U.S for a canon camera) its pretty much like an older camera you point the camera you take the pic its done, not alot of extra features, but they will most likely all have a display.

– standard- way more features including zooming in direct printing, optical zoom, a display, stablizer. and there is also differnt types of photographing options like, sports, portraits, and auto photographing. for canon the priceses again range from 199.99 US up.

– advanced- means exactly that, they have all the options you can think of but they are a little more bulky maybe for someone who is seriousy about photography this may be like an introduction to a SLR Camera. the cost is about the same to start 199.99 U.S it has all the features you would need for point and shoot.

i would personaly never go with a sleek and slim because it would never saticfy my. i would go with a standard canon camera which would fulfill my need and it would be cost efficient. the more elaberate camera you get the more it will cost.

    Definitely a Canon Powershot.
They are easy to carry around and take excellent pictures.
